Stop the deportation of Guy Njike

“We will do everything we can to keep Guy here with us”

About Guy and us

Guy Njike

We are friends and colleagues of Guy Njike.

Our friend Guy Njike was detained on Monday 11 February 2008 and faced deportation to Cameroon, where we fear he will be imprisoned and tortured.

Guy Njike is seeking political asylum in the UK after suffering numerous imprisonments and acts of torture in Cameroon due to his political activities with the opposition party, the Social Democratic Front.

Guy is a great friend and an integral member of the community. It is outrageous that this country is deporting the type of people we need. We will do everything we can to keep him here with us.

In June 2008 the Home Office conceeded a Judicial Review and agreed that Guy can submit a fresh claim for asylum. This is great news for now. Thanks to all of Guys friends and supporters for their commitment. Without you this would have not been possible. Read more on this here.

Guy said today: “I remember when I was arrested in February. We all thought the situation was hopeless, that I would get deported to Cameroon and everything was over. But I am still here and there is new hope for my fresh claim. Thanks to everyone who is helping with this campaign.”

We will keep campaigning until Guy is well and truly safe.  Please keep supporting this campaign.

I’m a documentary maker. I’d like to speak to someone more about Guy’s case and any ways that I might be able to bring attention to his case. Perhaps we could do a little viral film or something. Drop me an email anyway, and let’s try to get in touch.

    Thanks,
    Will
